You’re gonna want to put down that phone after seeing this.
John Blanding, assistant chief photographer for the Boston Globe, captured a priceless photo of a crowd outside Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline, Massachusetts, on Sept. 15. The group was awaiting movie stars to arrive at the premiere of the movie “Black Mass,” according to Getty Images.
While at first glance, it just looks like a photo of people on their devices, excited to snap some photos of the stars, a closer look reveals an elderly woman — sans smartphone — standing in the crowd, simply enjoying the moment.
The photo was shared by Twitter user Wayne Dahlberg, last week, and it quickly went viral with more than 9,000 retweets as of Wednesday afternoon.
People fell in love with the woman, and responded by tweeting reactions of delight.
“Living for the moment, and not the memory,” one Twitter user Ashley Brown said of the photo.
Another user, Sharon Bartels, reminded us that the woman in the photo is illustrating the classic way to enjoy life.
“Back to basics, watching an event with your own eyes,” she wrote.
We should all take a cue from this lady!
