Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel blame both The Fat Jew and social media for the Instagram’s sensation’s history of posting other people’s jokes and memes.
“He’s being a f*cking dick, and he’s probably a piece of crap, but it’s also on those platforms,” Huebel said of The Fat Jew HuffPost Live on Tuesday. “Like Twitter and Instagram — they make it too easy to do that.”
Scheer, who stars alongside Huebel in Vimeo’s new comedy series “Crash Test,” added that Twitter feels like “the only place right now where you can get away” with joke theft. But that’s not the only issue, according to the comedian.
“I think the issue that’s really bad about it is that [The Fat Jew] is profiting off of it,” explained Scheer. “He’s not just a thief — he’s actually making money off of people’s stuff. If he attributes it — if he’s like an aggregator — that’s fine.”
