David Bowie & Mick Jagger 'Dancing In The Street' Without Music Is Even More Bizarre

Almost nothing screams “Hey, this happened in the ’80s!” like the video for David Bowie and Mick Jagger’s “Dancing in the Street.”

The 1985 cover of the Martha & The Vandelles hit had everything the decade had to offer: bad dance moves, aggressive clothing, self-deprecating humor and an overwhelming sense that everything you loved about the ’60s and ’70s was truly gone. Add all that shame up and it was just plain fun.

But what happens when you take away the music, as Mario Wienerroither is so often wont to do? You get a poignant look at two men who were in on the joke long before we ever were. Oh, yeah, and it’s still fun. Weirdly, wonderfully fun.
