Destiny Beta Starts "Late July" on Xbox 360 and Xbox One

The upcoming beta for Bungie’s shooter Destiny will begin July 17 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. But what about Xbox 360 and Xbox One? According to a new trailer from the Xbox One dashboard spotted by VideoGamer, Microsoft faithful can jump in starting “late July.”

You can guarantee a spot in the beta by preordering the game and registering a code through the Destiny beta website. There’s no indication yet regarding how long the Destiny beta will last. Bungie says “most major modes and activities” from the full game will be featured in the beta.

Destiny launches September 9 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. Though a PC version won’t be available at launch, Bungie has not ruled out the possibility of bringing the game to computers sometime down the road. Destiny is a “natural fit” for PC, publisher Activision says.

Activision is reportedly investing $500 million on the Destiny franchise, and just recently, Bungie said it is confident that the game–which requires an Internet connection–will run smoothly at launch.
