Ryan McDill was that guy on the premiere of “The Bachelorette” on Monday. He was asked to leave the show after getting drunk, smacking Kaitlyn Bristowe’s butt, inappropriately touching Britt Nilsson and making an offensive comment about rape. Later, in an interview with TMZ, he refused to apologize for the “joke.”
It occurred when another contestant, JJ O’Brien, confronted McDill about his behavior during the cocktail hour. McDill responded: “Why am I not raping you right now?”
“Why is ‘rape’ your go-to word?” O’Brien said. “Maybe the bigger question is, why are you here?”
When TMZ caught up with him, McDill claimed he knew exactly what he was doing. “I wasn’t blacked out. People need to get off their high horse,” he said. “It was awesome and entertaining.”
McDill made similar comments to Entertainment Tonight after the season premiere, saying that he wanted Nilsson to be the Bachelorette and once it was clear Bristowe would be chosen, he “got way too drunk and started acting crazy and it turned into gold.”
“I know people are hating on the rape comment but that was completely taken out of context,” McDill told ET. “Although a poor choice of words, all I meant was that I should have beat him up.”
