Ed Sheeran is singing out loud — but, shh, not too loud.
For the first episode back from break, “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon had the “Thinking Out Loud” singer put an acoustic twist on hardcore metal and rap songs. Sheeran seemed to have a tough time keeping it together for the performance, but that’s probably just because the sweet lyrics of Iron Maiden’s “Run to the Hills” had him feeling more relaxed than ever before.
And for all the haters out there who think the singer should stick to romantic gestures and slower songs instead of Ty Dolla $ign’s “Paranoid” and Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff,” Sheeran is here to tell you to “quit talking that sh-t, or you’ll be leaving with a fat lip” in the most soothing way.
“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
