'Game Of Thrones' Might Have Killed Off A Character, And You Totally Missed It

There was so much disturbing horror unfolding on the most recent episode of “Game of Thrones” that you likely missed the possible death of one character.

Warning: Spoiler alert!

In “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” we returned to Dorne to find Jaime and Bronn in the thick of a Sand Snakes fight. While you may have been distracted (disappointed?) in the rather badly choreographed fight sequence, you may have missed one character getting injured.

Vanity Fair’s “GoT” expert Joanna Robinson noticed that Bronn’s arm was sliced by Tyene Sand, noting that the dagger was likely dipped in fatal poison. In George R.R. Martin’s books, Tyene’s weapon of choice is poison, much like her father Oberyn, AKA the Red Viper. In the show so far, we’ve seen Tyene, played by Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, wielding two daggers.

Fans on Reddit are very concerned for Bronn after that dangerous cut, with many assuming that the fearless fighter is done for. This doesn’t go without evidence though, as Season 5 has sprinkled a few clues that may foreshadow Bronn’s death by a Sand Snake.

You may recall Bronn singing in Episode 6 as he headed toward the Water Gardens with Jaime, and showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff likely wouldn’t include that just for fun. Jaime cuts Bronn off before he can finish the song, “The Dornishman’s Wife,” but Bronn insists the end is the best part. The rest of the song continues: “But the Dornishman’s blade had a song of its own / and a bite sharp and cold as a leech / As he lay on the ground with the darkness around / and the taste of his blood on his tongue.” Could that be hinting at Bronn’s fate?

Redditor DaenerysTargaryen3 also pointed out a second clue from Episode 4 when Bronn and Jaime are on the beach. Bronn saves Jaime from a snake with a dagger saying it would’ve been “a shit way to die,” which seems like another clear indication of how Bronn may die. In the same scene, Bronn tells Jaime that he’d prefer to have a boring death, and nothing sounds more boring for a fighter than slowly dying from poison.

But there may still be hope for Bronn. (Double spoiler alert!) An audition scene between Bronn and Tyene leaked online last year, in which the Sand Snake admits her dagger was poisoned and flirtatiously offers Bronn the antidote. So perhaps Bronn will return to his love Lollys Stokeworth in King’s Landing after all.

“Game of Thrones” airs on Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO.
