With the release of the new Super Smash Bros. game for Wii U and 3DS not that far away (just a few months to go), we’re expecting Nintendo to ramp up advertising for the game soon. But one fan has already created his own video to promote the game, and it’s quite impressive.
Dean Wright this week published a minute-long trailer for the new Super Smash Bros. game, showing Mario making his way through real-world Tokyo to get to a tournament on time. The video begins with Mario in a plumbing supplies store (where else?!), and then sees him zipping through the city (and catching a nap on the subway) before making it to his destination.
The video went live this week and has already racked up more than 250,000 views. “I had a lot of fun making this fan trailer over the past month in Tokyo,” Wright wrote. “So I hope you enjoy it too.” He added that he plans to release a “making-of” video for the project next week.
Super Smash Bros. launches October 3 for 3DS, with the Wii U version to follow sometime in the winter. During a recent video presentation, Nintendo confirmed three new characters for the game: Lucina, Robin, and Captain Falcon.
