At the end of the iconic movie “Forrest Gump,” Jenny goes back to Forrest (yet again) and reveals that he fathered her son, whom she names Forrest Jr. However, you may not have realized that the actor behind young Gump is former child star Haley Joel Osment.
Look familiar?
The actor, who broke out with “The Sixth Sense,” spoke with HuffPost Live’s Ricky Camilleri about his upcoming film “Tusk,” and also tickled us by reminiscing about the 1994 Academy Award-winning movie.
Osment was only four years old when he shot “Forrest Gump,” but he said he still remembers it “very well.” Aside from having to learn his lines, Osment picked up a little something else along the way: “I learned to tie my shoes on that movie, which is something a lot of people can’t say, I guess.”
He also referenced a picture he recently posted on Twitter of a piece of legal paper that he saved with some re-worked lines written in the handwriting of his on-screen father, Tom Hanks.

Because Osment was so young when the movie came out, he wasn’t even able to see it because of its PG-13 rating.
“I wasn’t allowed to see it, obviously, because I was like 6 when it came out or something. A lot of the stuff was too extreme, so it was cool to be able to see it [later on],” he said.
We love you too, baby Gump.
