Jennifer Lawrence may be one of the biggest movie stars in the world, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t suffer from the same breakup blues as the rest of us.
In a new interview with Diane Sawyer, Lawrence spoke about her relationship with ex-boyfriend, actor Nicholas Hoult.
JLaw and Hoult began dating in 2011, after meeting during a screen test for “X-Men: First Class.” The two were on-and-off for five years, breaking up once in January 2013 and later, breaking up for good, in 2014.
Lawrence opened up about the couple’s split, which occurred around the same time she wrapped filming on the “Hunger Games” movies.
“These movies had been my life for so long and they had to come first in everything. I was also in a relationship with somebody for five years and that was my life,” the 25-year-old actress told Sawyer.
Lawrence continued, “So my life was this person and these movies and we broke up around the same time that I wrapped those movies. Being 24 was this whole year of, ‘Who am I without these movies? Who am I without this man?'”
After her split from Hoult, it was rumored that the Oscar winner began dating Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who was newly separated from Gwyneth Paltrow. Though the romance was never officially confirmed, Martin is now apparently seeing someone else.
Lawrence, who by all accounts appears to be single, jokes about her relationship status in her new Vogue cover story. Taking Vogue writer Jonathan Van Meter into her bedroom, she did the typical “This is where the magic happens” line before correcting herself.
“Literally zero magic has happened in here,” the actress said, in typical JLaw fashion. “Cheers to my hymen growing back!”
