The media is in a full-scale panic over Ebola, even though experts say there’s no reason for most people to worry.
“So we’ve heard from experts who say this is a dangerous but manageable situation,” Jon Stewart said on “The Daily Show” on Tuesday night. “Now let’s hear from the opposite of an expert: A Congressman.”
With that, Stewart turned to Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) who has his own ideas on how to contain the outbreak — except some believe those notions could actually make the situation a whole lot worse.
“Which, to be fair to Congress, is what they’re accustomed to doing,” Stewart said.
Of course, Texas has had some health problems of its own in recent years, from outbreaks of swine flu, measles and whooping cough to the state rejecting $100 billion in federal funds to expand Medicaid.
“All right, Texas, here’s the deal,” Stewart said. “We can build that border fence you’ve always wanted. We’re just going to do it a little farther north.”
