Yesterday, IGN’s Roth Cornet spoke with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige in advance of the release of Guardians of the Galaxy and to catch up on all things MCU. We already know that the studio has big plans for Phase 3 following Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron. They’ve already scheduled Ant-Man for July 2015 and Captain America 3 for May 2016.
Now, according to Feige, that same “one sequel, one new character” model could be the game plan moving forward. “
fulfilled our desire to do something different,” Feige explained, “to start producing, each year, a film that was the sequel to a pre-existing, successful franchise and do something new. We’re doing that next year with Age of Ultron, with Ant-Man, and hope to maybe continue that model in the coming years.”
