San Diego Comic-Con’s Paramount panel in Hall H was packed with surprises on Thursday, most notably a very special presentation of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. Not only did attendees get a brand new, space-filled trailer to tide them over until the film’s release this November, but Nolan himself and star Matthew McConaughey made their Comic-Con debuts!
McConaughey came out first to warm up the crowd, along with his trademark southern charm. Upon uttering a throwaway “Alright” into the mic, the crowd immediately jumped on him to repeat the line. “Alright, alright, alright!” he finished.
Not surprisingly, McConaughey remained tight-lipped on the plot of Interstellar, but he naturally praised Nolan’s work. “He’s always out for original,” the actor said. “He also works by his instincts completely… It’s his most ambitious film. You’ll know when you see it.”
