A new full-length trailer has arrived for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s black comedy, Birdman, in which Michael Keaton plays a washed-up superhero actor looking to recapture his glory days.
As “Birdman”, Keaton’s character was a major movie star in days gone by, but since passing up on Birdman 4, things have pretty much dried up, career-wise.
Attempting to kick-start things, our hero decided to stage a Broadway play telling his story, but in the run-up to opening night, his old alter-ego increasingly begins to rise to the surface…
Take a look at the new trailer, below…
It’s certainly an intriguing concept, while Keaton looks to have snared himself the role of a lifetime as the increasingly bewildered protagonist. He even gets to dust off his old Batman voice…
Directed by Iñárritu and co-starring Ed Norton, Emma Stone and Naomi Watts, Birdman will open in the UK on 2 January 2015.
