Newlyweds Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent will soon be a party of three.
As People and US Weekly are both reporting, the “American Dream Builders” designer, 43, confirmed on Facebook that he and Brent, 29, are expecting their first child via a surrogate.
“We have had the most special year and its JUST become even more beautiful. We are happy to announce that we are expecting our first child!” Berkus wrote. “While we can’t share much, we can say that thanks to a surrogate and the support of those we love we will officially be a family in the spring of 2015.”
The New York Post previously reported that Berkus and Brent were planning to start a family in 2013 via a surrogate, but a rep for Berkus denied the claim at the time, according to US Weekly.
In May, the couple made history when they got married at the New York Public Library, becoming the first same-sex pair to tie the knot at the iconic venue.
Congrats, gentlemen!
