'NCIS' Actress Pauley Perrette Recounts Nearly Fatal Attack

Pauley Perrette says she nearly died Thursday night after she was attacked by a homeless man in Hollywood.

The “NCIS” actress, famous for her role as Abby Sciuto, tweeted a harrowing account of her attack, writing, “So, tonight was awful, life changing and I’m only grateful to be alive.” In the attached story accompanying her tweet, Perrette talks about how her attacker assaulted her and threatened to kill her.

“On my street, I was jumped by a VERY psychotic homeless man,” the actress wrote. “He grabbed me so forcefully, pinned my arm, punched me in the nose, forehead repeatedly telling me he was going to kill me. Then he showed me how he was going to kill me.”

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Perrette told the outlet she’d been crying all night from the attack.

“I’m really happy to be safe, but you know he [her attacker] breaks my heart,” she told ET. “I hate that people are that mentally ill in this country or anywhere with no help.”

Perrette drew a picture of her attacker, who was later apprehended and booked. E! News reportedly spoke with the LAPD, who confirmed that they arrested a 45-year-old man on felony assault charges. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
