New teaser lands for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes: watch now

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes has released a new teaser online, timed to coincide with the recent Independence Day celebrations, featuring a horde of apes running amok in Washington D.C.

The new teaser pairs some new footage of the marauding apes with audio from John F. Kennedy’s Independence Day speech from 1962, with thrillingly effective results.

The video does a nice job of juxtaposing JFK’s talk of “peace and freedom” with the fear and panic on display in the footage, as the apes storm the nation’s capital while the humans run for their lives.

Take a look at the new footage, below…

To date, we’ve not seen much footage from the early portion of the film, but it looks as though the apes’ rise to power is going to make for some fairly spectacular set-pieces…

Directed by Matt Reeves and co-starring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes will open in the UK on 17 July 2014.
