New Terminator film will be called Terminator: Genisys

Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed the new title for the forthcoming Terminator sequel, which will now be officially known as Terminator: Genisys.

Quite why the title is spelled in that manner is beyond us, but we’re presuming it has something to do with a specific plot point, as opposed to being a misspelling for the hell of it.

Along with the new title, Arnie also tweeted an image of himself on set, along with a brief message to the many fans of the franchise.

“Hasta la vista, baby,” reads the caption. “I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding.”

“From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.”

Directed by Alan Taylor and co-starring Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Jason Clarke, Terminator: Genisys will open in the UK on 26 June 2015.
