The BBC has unveiled a new teaser for the new series of Doctor Who, featuring a very brief glimpse of Peter Capaldi’s version of the titular Time Lord.

The new footage is narrated by one of the Daleks (Davros, perhaps?), who angrily informs our hero that he can see into his soul.

The video then gives us a look inside the good Doctor, with his twin hearts very much to the fore. Goodness knows what’s happening in the Tardis, meanwhile. It looks like some repairs may soon be in order…

“Beauty and divinity,” are mentioned by the Dalek in his appraisal of the Doctor’s soul, but also “hatred”. Looks like Capaldi’s Doctor is going to be a force to be reckoned with…

The new series will kick off on BBC1 on Saturday 23 August, with what may well be a Dalek-centred episode. We can hardly wait…
