Raven-Symoné posted on Facebook Sunday night to apologize for saying she would not hire someone with a “black”-sounding name.
“I’m not going to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea,” she said on Friday’s episode of “The View” during a segment titled “Are You Judged By Your Name?” She added, “That’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to hire you.”

Symoné faced a slew of criticism for her remarks, even from her father, who wrote that he supports his daughter even though she “says some dumb S#%T!”
Two days after the show, the former Disney star defended herself on Facebook. She revealed she herself has been a victim of discrimination, and hopes to be “part of the solution,” not the problem.
