Ridley Scott has been discussing progress on sci-fi sequels to Blade Runner and Prometheus, and has revealed that both projects are further along than might be expected.
“Blade Runner 2 is written and is damn good,” says Scott. “Of course it involves Harrison, who is a survivor after all these years – despite the accident. So yes, that will happen.”
Scott went on to confirm that the plan is for him to direct the film, and that he hopes to begin work on the film as soon as he is done with next project, The Martian.
As to whether he will also direct Prometheus 2, it could be an issue that comes down to scheduling. “That’s the problem,” he admits. “I’ve got a lot of ducks in a row. But they’re all written.”
We wouldn’t be surprised to see him hand over the directorial reins to somebody else for Prometheus 2, but the good news is that with both films written, we should see another Scott-influenced sci-fi sooner rather than later…
