A new name has been added to the list of potential stars for Marvel’s Doctor Strange, with Jack Huston the latest actor supposedly on the studio’s wish-list.
According to This Is Infamous, Huston is reportedly “under consideration” for the role, although whether or not any talks have taken place remains unclear.
Huston is the most recent in a long line of names to be linked to the part, including Jared Leto, Justin Theroux, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Tom Hardy.
Most recently, it had been thought that Joaquin Phoenix was in talks to take the role, although that rumour doesn’t appear to have developed any further.
Huston isn’t quite as big a name as some of those others mentioned above, but Kevin Feige has always sounded fairly flexible on what exactly the studio is looking for…
“A movie star is not required, but that doesn’t mean a movie star wouldn’t be great,” said Feige back in February. “It just depends.”
Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange will open in the US on 8 July 2016, with a UK date yet to be confirmed.
