Universal is pressing forward with the follow-up to Snow White And The Huntsman, with an official press release revealing that the film will be a prequel.
Entitled The Huntsman, the new film will be directed by Frank Darabont and will star the returning Chris Hemsworth as the titular axe-swinging badass.
Hemsworth will be joined by Charlize Theron, reprising her role as the evil Ravenna, although Kristen Stewart will not be returning as Snow White.
The official blurb claims that the new film will “reveal how the fates of two characters, The Huntsman Eric and Ravenna, intersected before they met Snow White”.
The Huntsman has also been confirmed for a release date of 22 April 2016, with Universal’s newly-announced reboot of The Mummy moving to 24 June 2016 to make room.
