South Carolina native Stephen Colbert joined thousands of other marchers Sunday to walk hand-in-hand to form a “unity chain.” The gesture was a sign of support for the nine individuals who were killed in Charleston last Wednesday.
Colbert posted a video from the march across the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge to his Twitter account.

Other marchers also shared photos of the comedian, who was photographed walking with his sister.

Nine people were killed Wednesday night at a Bible study gathering at Emanuel AME Church by shooter Dylann Roof, a 21-year-old who purportedly penned a racist manifesto against black people in America prior to the event. Police estimate that as many as 15,000 people took part in Sunday’s march, which stretched from the city of Mount Pleasant to Charleston, and ended with a five-minute moment of silence.
A rep for Colbert was not immediately available for further comment.
