In this tongue-in-cheek clip, gay Internet personality Davey Wavey gets singer-songwriter Steve Grand to strip off his shirt and get oiled up. It turns out, however, that he’s just trying to prove a point.
“I think you’re super talented, I think you’re an amazing person,” an enthusiastic Davey Wavey, who has no qualms about helping Grand peel off his flannel, quips. “But I am sick and tired of the way that you’re always exploited and you’re always sexualized in media … I think that we need to show people at home how they parade you around without your shirt on.”
Grand, who rose to fame after the video for his first tune, “All-American Boy,” went viral, is no stranger to baring his bod. Last year, the Chicago-based out star took a chilly plunge into Lake Superior wearing nothing but a smile for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and later shared a photo and video of the experience with his fans.
After a massively successful Kickstarter campaign, Grand released his debut album, also titled “All-American Boy,” in March.
