Steve Harvey is maybe, kinda, sorta considering a future in politics.
On Tuesday’s episode of “The Steve Harvey Show,” the host shared how Donald Trump’s presidential bid has increased Harvey’s chances of running for a future election.
“Donald Trump is the front runner in the Republican party right now, which obviously means that they have done away with background checks,” Harvey said to his studio audience. “If this dude can even say he wants to be president, I actually got a shot.”
Given Trump’s celebrity status and relative success, Harvey jokes that Kanye West is a legitimate candidate for the 2020 election. In fact, the comedian-host has made an offer to West’s compliment political aspirations.
“If Donald Trump get in, I’ll go on the ticket with Kanye, but I got to tell you — I’m just going for vice president,” he said. “I’m going to let Kanye be president. I don’t wanna be going to all them meetings and everything. I wanna be the Joe Biden. I wanna fire off and just say stuff.”
