'The View' Co-Hosts Get Into Heated Debate About Bill Cosby Controversy

The recent — and recently resurfaced — sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby have led to perhaps the most heated debate on “The View” this season so far.

Following up on their conversation from earlier this week, the women continued to discuss the reaction of the media after several more women have stepped forward accusing the comedian of rape.

Things heated up when Rosie O’Donnell took issue with Rosie Perez’s statement that social media and public opinion have had such an impact on how networks are responding to the controversy.

“It seems like you’re getting upset with me,” Perez said to O’Donnell. “I’m not saying the man is not guilty, I’m not saying the man is guilty, I’m saying that that’s not my business.”

“As a woman, that’s not your business?” O’Donnell shot back.

“It’s not knowable, Rosie!” co-host Nicole Wallace added.

O’Donnell’s silence and facial expression said it all.

Whoopi Goldberg later said that the truth has yet to come out because “people keep making stuff up,” comparing the allegations against Cosby to those faced by Paula Deen last year.

“I think there’s a big difference between a rape allegation and Paula using the n-word,” O’Donnell said.

“No, there’s not,” Goldberg fired back. “Until you know that it’s true, that’s an allegation!”

Goldberg made a similar argument on Tuesday, during a much tamer discussion of the allegations, stating that she has “a lot of questions” for Barbara Bowman, the actress who accused Cosby of sexual assault in a recent essay in The Washington Post. The co-hosts faced backlash for this conversation when they seemed generally skeptical of the multiple accusations, with Wallace wondering whether or not Cosby may have been “falsely accused.”
