As its been previously reported, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not reprise their role as Michelle Tanner in Netflix’s “Fuller House,” but the show’s writers haven’t totally excluded the character from the show.
While Michelle won’t actually appear on screen, her name does get mentioned by some of the other characters who talk about her life as a fashionista in New York City. That’s right, the youngest Tanner daughter will reportedly be living in the Big Apple, working on building her fashion empire, Us Weekly reports. The plotline is a not-so-subtle nod to the Olsen’s real lives — they currently reside in NYC and run fashion labels The Row and Elizabeth and James.
An insider also told Us Weekly that one episode in the “Full House” reboot series also features at least one character prank-calling Michelle using her (former) famous line, “You got it, dude!”
“Fuller House” will focus on D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure), a recently widowed mother of three. Her sister, Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and best friend, Kimmy (Andrea Barber), move in with her to help raise the kids.
John Stamos, who will reprise his role as Uncle Jesse, announced the series on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year, saying, “It’s a labor of love. We’ve been literally trying for so many years to do it right and I think we finally got it perfect.”
The series, which debuts in 2016, will run for 13 episodes. It will feature other returning stars such as Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin and Dave Coulier.
