Tim McGraw had an unusual, and uncomfortable, encounter with a fan at an Atlanta show last weekend. According to TMZ, while performing his song “Truck Yeah” at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood on Sunday, July 13, McGraw slapped a female fan who got a little too handsy and aggressive.
In the video above (TMZ has another version of it as well), McGraw is seen standing in a sea of screaming fans with his ripped jeans, black tank top and signature cowboy hat. At about 44 seconds in, after bending down to sing with the crowd, McGraw tries to keep on walking when something holds him back. A moment later, security rushes over.
According to TMZ, a woman grabbed on to McGraw’s leg and ripped his jeans. In the video, he is visibly upset, gesturing “What the what” with his hands, before carrying on with the show. The woman was indeed taken away by security.
HuffPost has reached out to McGraw’s reps for comment and will update this story once one comes through. The singer hasn’t addressed the incident on Twitter, instead posting the following photo at the end of the night:

McGraw is hardly the first musician whose fans have gotten a little too close for comfort.
Back in February, a fan rushed up the stage as Taylor Swift performed in London’s O2 Arena. He was escorted off by security. Beyonce was pulled off stage by an overly excited fan in September 2013, during a concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Wiz Khalifa had a similar encounter in October 2013, when a shirtless man got up on stage while he performed in Florida. The man was immediately tackled by security.
