Topher Grace is still great pals with all of his “That ’70s Show” cast mates, but based on what he told HuffPost Live on Wednesday, it sounds like they’re all too successful to find time for an official reunion.
“The great thing about the show to me, personally, is that everyone … is doing great, both personally and professionally,” Grace said. “It’s rare, I think, that everyone that came off a sitcom is [so successful].”
A quick reminder of what the “’70s Show” cast is up to these days: Laura Prepon stars in “Orange Is the New Black,” Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson are currently prepping a new show for Netflix, Mila Kunis has a busy film career and a regular gig on “Family Guy,” Wilmer Valderrama stars in Fox’s “Minority Report,” and Grace has a role in the critically-acclaimed new film “Truth,” which chronicles the fallout from a controversial 2004 CBS report about George W. Bush’s military service.
So when HuffPost Live asked Grace about whether we might get a “That ’70s Show” reunion, he said scheduling makes it unlikely.
“Probably not. Everyone seems really busy,” he said. Still, he said the cast sees each other whenever possible and would have a blast if it did happen. “We’d love to do it. I’d love to do it. I’d be down to do it.”
While all the cast has remained friendly, some have gotten much closer than others — namely Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, who had a baby together in 2014 and tied the knot this year. Grace told HuffPost Live that was a “surprising” development to the rest of the cast.
“It was surprising for all of us, yeah, just because that wasn’t a thing then [during the show],” he said. “If you think about it, it’s all like high school. We actually were playing high school students, and it would be like if two of your great friends from high school grew up, went to college, had jobs and then actually got together. It’s so cool.”
