Growing up as the daughter of the prolific film and television producer Aaron Spelling, Tori Spelling never found it odd to have major celebrities coming in and out of the family mansion. From veteran actors like Sophia Loren and Burt Reynolds to young starlets from Aaron’s television shows, plenty of famous visitors would drop in to spend time with the family.

Thanks to this relatively unusual upbringing, Tori says she doesn’t typically get star-struck in the presence of famous celebs. But there are exceptions, as the 42-year-old actress tells “Oprah: Where Are They Now — Extra” in the above video.

“I like reality TV,” she says, laughing. “So, I get star-struck when… it’s a real person that has become somewhat famous. I’m like, ‘Ooh, look at that!’ It’s kind of like a coup for me. I get kind of excited when I see that.'”

Yet, when it comes to the person she is the most star-struck by, Tori doesn’t name an A-List actor or a reality show star.

“I did meet her once — [it] would be Martha Stewart,” she says.

Tori has long been a fan of the creative media mogul, but in her book, Spelling It Like It Is, Tori wrote that their much-awaited encounter wasn’t as warm and friendly as she had hoped. Still, with successful print, broadcast and digital enterprises as well as a reputation for doing impeccable projects, the 73-year-old Stewart has built an empire that Tori says she both respects and admires.

“She’s always been what I’ve set my goal towards,” Tori explains. “Per Oprah, I always do vision boards and I always have Martha on my vision board. My goal is to be the modern-day Martha Stewart.”
