With four explosive, blockbuster live-action Transformers films in the books, it might be surprising that Unicron has failed to appear in any of the Michael Bay-directed movies. Transformers: Age Of Extinction writer Ehren Kruger said that’s it’s not for a lack of trying, however.
Kruger talked to The Huffington Post about whether Bay has ever told him no when creating the script for a Transformers film (he’s written three of them now), and the writer mentioned that Unicron is the story thread he keeps pushing for. “The only thing I do keep talking about that seems too big until we find the right stories for it — or the way to make it make sense — is the Unicron character from the mythology, who is a planet-size Transformer,” said Kruger. “It’s not that it’s too big, just that it’ll be onscreen whenever we figure out how to make it visually interesting and amazing.”
