You most likely know Kumail Nanjiani from HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” or even from his appearances on “Portlandia” and “Broad City,” or his run on “Franklin & Bash.” But the Pakistani-American actor is definitely not on “The Big Bang Theory.”
Salon TV critic, Sonia Saraiya, made the mistake of misidentifying Nanjiani as a “regular on ‘The Big Bang Theory‘” in her review of Season 2 of “Silicon Valley.” The error, which Salon says they “deeply regret,” has since been corrected. Nanjiani tweeted a screen shot of the article on Friday however, mentioning Kunal Nayyar, the British-Indian actor who plays Raj in “Big Bang.”
So @salon did a Silicon Valley review & said I’m a regular on Big Bang Theory. cc @kunalnayyar http://t.co/CpwnHAI68o pic.twitter.com/qH0SkRxlzF

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nanjiani’s wife Emily V. Gordon first noticed the error and tweeted at Saraiya asking for a correction. Gordon has since deleted the original tweet after the change was made.
I deleted my tweet. There’s no point in piling on. The article has been changed and that’s what I wanted. Fuckups are fuckups.

During a Reddit Ask Me Anything on Sunday, one user jokingly asked the “Silicon Valley” star what it was like working with Jim Parsons on “The Big Bang Theory.” Nanjiani replied saying, “Couldn’t be nicer. I just wish my bank would confuse me with Kunal Nayyar sometimes.”
The Huffington Post has reached out to Nanjiani and Nayyar’s reps for comment.
