When it came to choosing his profession, actor Colin Hanks followed in his father’s footsteps, but it turns out the two actors don’t talk show business as much as you might think.
Hanks joined HuffPost Live to discuss his FX show “Fargo” and discussed his relationship with his father, Academy Award winner Tom Hanks. He explained that, although both father and son are in the industry, they tend to keep the acting talk to a minimum.
“To be honest, pretty much any conversations that we have about anything related to the business of show tends to be, ‘So, how do you stay sane on location? How do you make the best of your time when you’re traveling back and forth trying to see our family as much as you can?'” the younger Hanks told host Josh Zepps. “It’s always sort of those nuts and bolts kinds of questions.”
Hanks said the two are far too busy to ask scene-specific acting questions.
“I don’t have the time to write that email, and he doesn’t have the time to respond,” he said. “When we see each other, we like to talk about other things.”
