These special effects are anything but special.

Movie magic has advanced plenty over the years, but these fx disasters turned make-believe into the preposterous. Remember the scene of the shark busting through the aquarium in “Jaws 3-D”? What a dud, in any dimension.

And don’t get us started on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s lifeless CGI stand-in in “The Mummy Returns.”
