Wrestling Commentary Makes Video Game Clips So Much More Entertaining

Watching video games has proven to be an extremely popular activity in recent years, thanks in large parts to services like Twitch. But what might be even better than enjoying a good speedrun or something of the sort is a rapid series of clips accompanied by over-the-top commentary from what I think is professional wrestling’s finest announcer of all-time.

As someone who thoroughly enjoyed wrestling as a kid, it continues to be something that part of me appreciates. Longtime WWE/WWF commentator Jim Ross, in particular, remains someone I and many other current and former wrestling fans adore, and the videos above and below will likely clue non-wrestling fans in as to why that is.

This week, YouTube user TheBlueOwlPlays released the second in a series of videos (via Reddit) that overlays some of Ross’ best moments on top of clips from games like Resident Evil 4, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Mario Kart 8, and even Flappy Bird. It’s the not the first time Ross’ voice has been put to this sort of use.

A third video is said to be “coming soon,” which will only further my case that Ross’ commentary can make anything better.

On a similar note, the recently released EA Sports UFC–which has been incredibly buggy for some players, often with hilarious results–led to the creation of a video featuring fake commentary from Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg impersonators. Check it out below.
