Yolanda Foster and her husband David are divorcing after four years of marriage. A rep for the former model confirmed the news to The Huffington Post on Tuesday.
“Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways,” the couple said in a statement sent via email. “We’ve shared nine beautiful and joyous years together. During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues.”
The statement continues, “We are grateful for the years we’ve spent together and believe wholeheartedly that we did our best. I hope that we can pave the road ahead of us with all we’ve learned and with the love and respect we will always have for one another.”
According to sources who spoke to Us Weekly, the split was not unexpected. One insider revealed that things got “rocky” when the former model became ill with Lyme disease in 2012.
The two married in November 2011 during a lavish ceremony. At the time, David told Yolanda, “I’m the luckiest man on the planet.”
The pair do not have any children together, but they each have kids from previous relationships. Yolanda shares daughters Gigi, 20, and Bella, 19, and son, Anwar, 16, with ex-husband Mohammed Hadid. Foster has five daughters from previous relationships with Rebecca Dyer and B.J. Cook.
