Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple recently discussed the upcoming fifth season of the hit AMC show, saying it will be “brand new versions of the comic story.”

Speaking with Collider, Gimple explained how the structure of the upcoming season of The Walking Dead would compare and contrast with Season 4. “It’s not mirroring

completely,” Gimple said. “… The challenge of the show is every eight episodes, it’s a whole new show. I will say that there may be some slightly familiar structural turns. But for the most part, it is going to be brand new versions of the comic story.”
