Image Expo — the Image Comics-run showcase featuring breaking announcements and top-tier creator appearances — will be held the day preceding SDCC this year, for the first time outside of the Bay Area.

According to the announcement on the Image Comics website, the Image Expo will be held on Wednesday, July 23 at the Hilton Bayfront, starting at 2 p.m. PDT. Members of the press, comic retailers, and a select number of SDCC attendees will receive complimentary passes to the event. Information on general tickets has not been given yet.
