Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Arrives This October In Japan, US Gamers Need to Wait Until Early 2015

Capcom’s 3DS action role-playing game Monster Hunter 4G (known as Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate in the West) will arrive on October 11 in Japan, the publisher announced today. The release date was confirmed in a new trailer for the game, which you can see above.

Monster Hunter fans in the West will need to wait a bit longer for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, as the game does not arrive in the United States and Europe until “early 2015.”

When Capcom announced Monster Hunter 4G/Ultimate in January, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto had this to say about the game: “While we wanted to maintain the familiar features that fans have come to love, we really wanted to evolve the series in a new direction, to appeal to existing players and attract new ones as well.”

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will have more vertical and lateral movement than seen in past games, which Capcom says should allow players new possibilities. The game also includes online and local wireless multiplayer. The original Monster Hunter 4, released in 2013, has sold over 4.1 million copies.
