ABC Promoted Priyanka Chopra With Photos Of The Wrong Indian Actress

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is well on her way to becoming a huge star here in America thanks to her new show, “Quantico.”

The 33-year-old’s face has become pretty hard to avoid these days, thanks to the fact that it’s plastered on billboards everywhere. But apparently the folks at ABC, the network airing the drama, still don’t know who she is.

While promoting the the new series and its star, the network confused Chopra with another Indian actress and former Miss World, Yukta Mookhey. As one Twitter user pointed out, ABC “Nightline” used screenshots of Mookhey while talking about Chopra.

Uh oh, @Nightline! That’s Yukta Mookhey when she was crowned Miss World. Not @priyankachopra! pic.twitter.com/6WDFcc8LSr

And here’s the actual shot of Mookhey when she was crowned Miss World in 1999, the year before Chopra won the title.

And here’s Mookhey handing the title over to Chopra:

Definitely not the same person. But luckily for ABC, Chopra had a pretty good sense of humor about the mishap. The actress quoted the above tweet, adding a simple, “Lol!”

Since realizing their mistake, ABC has apologized to Chopra and corrected their story.

Our sincerest apologies @priyankachopra . Here is the corrected story: http://t.co/9IYV8kXfbn

Hopefully they don’t make the same mistake twice.
