Marvel has recruited a pair of new writers to lend a hand on the Ant-Man script, with Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer set to join the project.
The script has been few a fair few drafts by this stage, with Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish writing the original, before Eric Pearson was brought on to perform the rewrites before Wright walked away from the project.
Following that, Adam McKay was approached to rewrite the script for new director, Peyton Reed, and now Ferrari and Barrer have been approached to make some tweaks to that latest draft.
That’s a lot of cooks for one particular broth, although it has been suggested that Ferrari and Barrer’s appointment will be as much about being on hand on set to perform last minute amends during filming.
McKay’s schedule is apparently too busy to allow him time to perform the same service, so it makes sense that there be replacements on hand, should the script need any last-minute doctoring.
In the meantime, the film is set to begin production in August, with Marvel still aiming for a release date of 17 July 2015.
