Jon Stewart Finds Democrats Are Against Money In Politics, Except When They Want Money

The Democrats talk a good game when it comes to getting rid of the influence of money in politics, but they sure don’t seem to back up their words with actions.

On Monday night’s “Daily Show,” host Jon Stewart showed that Democratic politicians aren’t exactly shy about accepting cash from their own big-money donors, including a recent event for President Barack Obama that was hosted by a real estate developer named Rich Richman.

“And then of course there are the emails,” Stewart said, referring to the constant fundraising emails sent out by Democratic candidates and causes. “With a frequency and desperation matched only by a Nigerian prince selling a Groupon deal for boner pills, the Democrats and the emails will not stop trying to make you give them money.”

Stewart shared some of the weirdest fundraising emails sent out by Democrats. You won’t believe how desperate they sounded.
